Traded in my '99 Ranger and moved up a notch. A 2005 Ford F-150 FX4 with a 5.4L Triton Engine! 300 HP! I bought it at Minooka Subaru. There she sits in my driveway, ready to be tricked out!

The end of the line has come for me and my Rangers. Here she sits, back at Minooka Subaru, where I bought it 2 1/2 years ago. With 131,250 miles on her, it was time to say goodbye.

There she is, 1999 Ford Ranger XLT Super Cab 4x4, 4.0 liter, 5 speed automatic, 100,212 miles and no rust! Parked next to her is my old '91 Ranger.
She's a beauty. I'll have to go out and buy car wax! I never used it on the other Rangers.
I won't have to worry about getting my wiener and fry boxes wet now, the only thing is how do I get a load of manure now?

Death of the '91 Ranger is eminent. Tranny problems are about to do in this old workhouse, so I'm scouting out some '95 and '96 Rangers. I'll keep you posted!

The transformation into a stealth Ranger in complete. Three coats of Rustolium Flat Black and she no longer looks like a junkyard dog.
No more rust! Right after I completed the paint job, trouble struck, the dreaded 'Check Engine' light came on. Transmission modulator, oxygen sensor and fuel regulator all went down. All in the space of a couple days. I thought she was a goner. But a couple visits to Tom Hesser Ford and about $700 got us back in business. Then I spent another $450 on tires and brake pads. She passed state inspection with flying colors. AAAHHHH!!!! Good for another year!
That's a 'new' bumper, too!

There she is with her rust free box, ready for another 200,000 miles! In the next few weeks I will begin painting her my favorite color............Flat Black! Check back for updates.
Rust has been busy on my favorite Ranger. I had to do something fast.
Rust, rust, rust. The mortal enemy of old Rangers. I finally found a fix for the disease!
I picked up this 1991 Regular Cab Ranger with a blown engine for free. It's box was rust free and so are the bumpers. I'll pick it apart and then send it to the Ranger graveyard. :-(

This is my newest Ranger! She's a 1991 Ranger XLT Super-Cab 4x4.Sweet isn't she, and I only paid $2200. V-6, automatic, AC, Pioneer Sound System with CD player and only 154,000 miles. Barely broke in!
Boy, I'm so lucky when it comes to Rangers. I haven't had a bad one yet.
All-right she's' got some age spots. Hey, rust never sleeps and on Rangers, its always over the rear wheel wells.

Note the beefed up suspension. I had new leafs put on the rear and added one extra leaf on each side to handle those extra wiener loads!

My First Ranger
1983 Ford Ranger Regular Cab 4x4 Long Bed
That's was my classic 1983 Ford Ranger 4x4 Long Bed. First year Ford made them. She had 166,000 miles on her when I sold her. I blew the original 2.3L 4 cyl at 98,000. Now she packs a 1988 Mustang 2.3L Ford Motorsport engine (about 20 more horses in disguise). That's right, that's flat black paint, put on with a roller. Hey, it's cheaper than a car wash!
The Death Skull Plate indicates that she's a Death Wagon. That comes from a long line of old trucks used on our farm. When driving on country roads in Northeast Pennsylvania, animals are always crossing the road. Along comes a Death Wagon and you have what we call PA Road Scrapple. My sister Margie has a large rubber stamp collection and among them are many animals native to our state. When the Death Wagon encounters one, out comes the ink pad and stamp................ and well you know, sort of like the bombers in WW II.
Rust is an ongoing battle. Only the frame, cab and box are original. Most other parts came from Denaples Auto Parts, the areas largest parts yard, located in Dunmore, PA and Harry's U-Pull It in Hazelton, Pa. Sort of like Frankenstein :-).
